I see Liberty is again requesting more in rate increases after you’ve already approved the huge phased in 3yr rate increase. Liberty already rakes in huge profits and has a horrible reputation in southwest Missouri; however, you approved a substantial rate increase this year. Are you going to kiss their ass again and give them even more they’ve decided to ask for. Thanks for representing Missourians (sarcasm if you didn’t catch that). Missourians obviously know where/who you stand up for. I will be contacting my local state Representative and Senator along with US counterparts to let them know what I think of Liberty and especially MoPSC who is supposed to protect the people of Missouri. I'm not sure if this is in regards to how the company bills its customers for electrical use, but I am frustrated on how my bill frequently goes up. I am on SSDI and on the level pay program and each year this goes up. I hear this from other people who receive SSDI and social security, fixed incomes, etc. My neighbor just paid her bill today - over $200, has other bills to pay, and has less than $50 for the rest of the month to live on. Many people I know (and more probably I don't know) are in the same boat. How is it that the utility companies, among other companies, expect us to live and survive? |

We are oppsed to Liberty increasing our rate for electric service. We went through their billing changes, contacted them numerous times, with resolution only coming several months later after Public Service Commission got involved. There are customers that still do not have resolutions. We don't think they can handle this large scale administrative change on top of what still lingers. Their customer service is zero, 0. Our monthly average billing is $114.00. If our monthly payment increases by as much as $15.00 that would be one fifth of our monthly house payment. With the cost of living, gas for vehicles and propane going up, not to mention health care, we barely have enough to make ends meet. We are living on Social Security only. Please do not allow Liberty to implement the huge rate hike that it wants. Although $15/month isn’t much for some people, it is for rural communities and for seniors. Liberty is already wanting to expand their easements here in Forsyth and not compensate land owners fairly. Our electric bills cost MORE than neighboring towns who pay for multiple utilities in one bill. A friend from the State of Washington was in shock when seeing our electric bill. My husband & I are Liberty Utilities customers. We object to their recent ask of a rate hike. Their request of a 16% hike as well as their having the highest rates in Mo is obscene. Our bill will increase about $15 a month or $180 a year. We are on a fixed income. With all our expenses increasing, gas, insurance, food, etc., this is a hardship. Yes, Liberty does have an assistance program but we do not qualify. Liberty should concentrate on collecting their accounts that are in arrears (in excess of $18 million) & tightening their belts like the average consumer has to. And address their billing, customer service issues. I hope that the commission will NOT ok their rate hike. |

I would like to know from the PSC or one of their staff why due to Liberty poor investment strategies and excess spending that the consumer continuously gets hit with these raises. There is a difference between a want and a need for utility company and they have lots of needs. We are paying for coal plant and related demolition that they closed down due to politics and personal feelings versus the needs of the payers. I would like to know what laws and regulations you’re using to approve these unnecessary rate increases. We would’ve saved tens of millions of dollars during the rolling blackouts if they had had a coal plant online with 200 MW available versus zero from the renewals that are not always available. |

The increase desired by Liberty Utilities is excessive. How many times does this utility expect customers to allow an increase? Every time they have asked for an increase, it is passed quickly and effortlessly while the customers are burdened with another increase in their electric bill. Enough is enough! Customers have to learn to live within their limits according to the deposits in their checking or saving accounts due to their work or retirement allow. This utility acts like customers have an unlimited amount of funds available to agree with the desires of Liberty utility. We are opposed of this hike. Even if they say it is temporary. The PSC just approved a hike for Liberty for the Joplin area. We are already still paying ridiculous fees from the Asbury Plant and 2021 storms, which is nonsense and unjust to the customers. Liberty has asked for another price increase. This is on top of numerous extra fees they’ve been adding to our bills, which has raised my electric and water bill by $100 compared to previous bills from years past. I even replaced my HVAC system to a more efficient system and it is still a lot higher. Also, Liberty has not fixed their billing issues. I get paper invoices that say I owe one amount and when I look online it says I owe a different amount. I am rarely home to use electric, water and sewer and keep the thermostat at 65 in the winter and 74 in the summer. despite all my efforts I’m still paying more each month. |

In the last couple of years, i've noticed that my winter bills are extremely high. It does very hard on a single income to pay $400 plus bill for several months in a row. The Missouri Public Service Commission must deny Liberty Utilities’ rate increase. Your own findings cite “extensive deficiencies” and “persistent and material failures” in billing and customer service. Our bill is so high that I close down 3/4 of the house during the winter. I still have a bill that exceeds $700 a month and my main heat source is a fireplace! Realtors in our local Facebook groups talk about homes that are not selling or renting because buyers fear Liberty’s extreme bills, excessive fees, and high minimum charges. Rewarding a utility that overcharges, violates tariffs, and fails its customers is indefensible. Liberty has been the reason why home and business owners are moving out of Bolivar. We moved to the city limits July 1st 2025 and it is a huge regret. If liberty missed its energy recover financial goals because it predicted more energy sales than what occurred, then did it not generate that energy thus reducing fuel costs or did it not sell that energy somewhere else? I moved into my home 1/16/26, I only lived in the home for 2 weeks until my first bill. During that time I had no TV, washer/dryer, or stove. I kept my house below 60 degrees. My first bill was $270. My 2nd bill with Liberty - after living in the home a full month and having a TV, washer/dryer, and stove was $165. Their metering and billing make NO SENSE. I do not trust them and panic each month to get my bill. They are still charging people for a storm clean up from 2021. They ask for money to rework the coal fire plants and they got it. They ask for money to knock it down they got it. They asked for money because they can't keep up when bad weather hits, they get it.
